Meet Kevin Culver, MA, LPCC
Ready to start feeling more engaged and present in your life?
Many of us were taught to suppress our emotional experience, get rid of it, or do our best to ignore it.
But there are times in life, when these strategies and defenses no longer work.
Your bad days outnumber your good days, you feel miserable, and you’re aware that something is wrong, but you’re not sure what to do.
You’re in the right place.
I’m here to help you reconnect to your experience, so you can live in integrity with yourself & your values.
My goals as therapist is to make therapy more accessible for people like you: people that have the motivation & desire to create lasting change in their lives, but just need some support & guidance getting there.
My CORE belief
I believe each client has inherent wisdom & an innate ability to heal.
I like to think of therapy as an intentional conversation between two humans.
You and I both experience suffering, pain, loss, and joy, but your experiences, personality, and background are unique to you.
I am not the expert on your life - you are.
As such, I believe you already know where you want to go in therapy and in life.
I’m here to help you rediscover this ability, so you can successfully move towards a more connected & meaningful way of life.
My guiding principles
Curiosity
When we approach our problems with openness and curiosity, we invite he possibility of change.
I strive to create meaningful dialogues that promote insight, perspective, & deeper awareness.
Honesty
Cultivating honesty towards self and others sets the foundation for transformative therapy.
I promise to be honest with myself and with you; and hope you will do the same.
Courage
It requires courage to seek therapy and even more to commit to the work of bettering yourself.
I promise to honor and acknowledge the vulnerability and effort it takes to grow as a person.
Consistency
Consistency builds trust, sets expectations, & allows for meaningful work to happen.
I’m committed to my clients and my work, striving to be a source of accountability, trust, & safety.
My job is to help you restore your sense of agency & hope - to show you that change is possible & that you can achieve it.
